I have to 2nd what @CjMitchell said, in that when dealing with the EPS on a street level it is hard to feel heard, understood or even acknowledged. I also have to 2nd what Marcy said and that during the meeting when you are in attendance you do feel heard, and like there is hope.

I have a disability and I also had some troubling situations with the police in the city. I have also witnessed a couple of situations that shocked me when dealing with people with disabilities and other marginal groups.
That is why I wanted to join this group and share my story and hear other stories. Some people are too scared to speak.
I have been to three meetings. I have to say in all honesty, I felt heard.
When you see each of the members of this group willing to listen with an open heart it is refreshing.
For those that have not gone - please come. I know that you are tired. I have been in Edmonton for 20 years and I was near the point of giving up on the police. But, this group is giving me hope.
We are stronger together.

Both my wife and I feel like we dont really matter and it takes so long for the police to respond . There isnt allot of trust when it comes to the disabled community and EPS services . I would have liked to have joined the event and expressed my concerns , but the event is sold out and a great deal of us feel we are being left out .
